Correction Officer Positions Available!

corrections officer at dispatch boardCorrection Officers are instrumental to the success of operations in the jail. Work is hands-on and interactive with different opportunities for growth. Correction officers are responsible for the supervision, safety and security of inmates and the jail itself.

The Correction Officer position offers a great starting wage of $18.38 per/hr. Correction Officers are represented by a union and receive hourly wage increase based on their union contract.

What You’ll Do 
Oversee and supervise inmates within the Correction Center in all daily activities. Supervision duties include:
  • Observing inmate behavior 
  • Making appropriate referrals 
  • Inmate searches
  • Enumerating inmates
  • Distributing meals
  • Commissary, hygiene, items and mail
  • Reporting unusual incidents orally and through documentation
  • Escorting inmates through the center. 
Some shifts may require mandatory additional hours to be worked.

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be 21 years old
  • Never convicted of a felony
  • The ability to quickly acclimate to the environment and behavior of inmates

Rotating shifts are available, and overtime is offered to qualified officers.
